Adult Services Practice Area

Examples of settings include agencies and drop-in centers, inpatient/ outpatient treatment facilities, and homeless and domestic harm shelters. Specialized communities and populations include immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, and veterans. Students will have the opportunity to work with adults facing issues such as substance use, domestic and community harm, financial insecurity, and homelessness. Learning opportunities within this practice field include intake and assessment, case management, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, trauma-informed care, advocacy and outreach, community outreach, and cultural humility.
