How do I apply to a post-master’s certificate program?
Applications for our certificate programs may be found on individual program web page. Applications must be completed online from each certificate program web pages. Printed versions of the application will not be reviewed. Applicants are required to attach a current resume and brief statement of interest to their application. The Palliative and End-of-Life Care certificate program requires an interview.
When is the deadline to apply to a post-master’s certificate program?
The deadline to apply for programs beginning in the Fall 2013 is August 1, 2013. The deadline to apply for programs beginning in the Spring 2014 is December 1, 2013. Applicants will be notified of acceptance within two weeks of receipt of application materials.
How do I register for a conference or event?
Registration for conferences and events held by the Office of Global and Lifelong Learning is completed online. Please visit individual conference or event web pages, which contain links for credit card and check payment methods.
Is financial assistance available for the post-master’s certificate programs?
Financial assistance is not available; however, the program offers several fee discounts described below:
- 25% discount for NYU Silver School of Social Work MSW/PhD alumni.
- 25% discount for field instructors currently working with NYU Silver School of Social Work graduate students.
- 25% discount for applicants who have already completed two or more NYU SSSW certificate programs.
- 15% discount for applicants who have already completed one NYU SSSW certificate program.
- 25% discount for agency educational coordinators.
- 25% discount 3 or more applicants accepted from the same agency to this program

Is financial assistance available for conferences and events?
Financial assistance is not available; however, conference and event registrants may be eligible for the following fee discounts (which may not be combined):
- 15% discount for registrants who have taken one NYU SSSW certificate program
- 25% discount for NYU SSSW grads, field instructors and education coordinators*
- 25% discount for five or more registrants from the same agency (contact Stephanie Kaplan for information)
*Current field instructors and educational coordinators who have instructed NYU students within the current and last academic years are eligible. For example, in 2012-13, discounts are available for those who are teaching in 2012-13 and who instructed in 2011-2012.
Are flexible payment plans available for post-master’s certificate program students?
Flexible payment plans are not available. Upon acceptance into the post-master’s certificate program, a $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. This deposit is applied to the total cost of tuition. Upon acceptance, a tuition payment schedule will be provided. Students must meet payment schedule deadlines in order to attend class.
What is the payment process for a post-master’s certificate program student who plans on receiving tuition reimbursement from an agency or union?
Students who plan on receiving tuition reimbursements from their agency or their union are expected to submit tuition payments according to the tuition payment schedule outlined by OGLL. You will be provided all necessary documentation in order to receive agency reimbursement upon successful completion of the program.
When will I receive my CEU's for attending an NYU SSSW Conference or Event?
CEU's are distributed at the end of events when you turn in your completed event evaluation form.
