Getting Started

All NYU faculty and staff members, as well as students enrolled in degree or diploma programs, are provided with an NYU NetID (Network IDentification). Your NetID is a combination of your initials and a few random numbers, e.g., aqe123, and is usually printed on the back of your NYUCard. It is different from your University ID, which is also printed on your NYUCard, but is a longer string of numbers and starts with an "N".

Your NYU NetID and associated password function as the gateway to a variety of other services across the University, including NYUHome, your NYU Email, and NYU Classes.

You can activate your NYU NetID and Password or change your Password at the NYU Start Page.

The Wireless NYURoam service provides secure, wireless access to NYU-NET from most NYU locations.

You can access NYURoam using:

1. A computer running Windows or Mac OS X
2. A wireless-enabled mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, BlackBerry, Android)

At the beginning of each calendar year, and the first time you access NYURoam, you will be presented with a dialog box asking you to validate a security certificate. When prompted, accept the new certificate and log on.
