Two Silver MSW Students Awarded Scholarships from the Latino Social Work Task Force

October 1, 2015

NYU Silver students Cynthia De La Rosa, BS ’15, MSW ’16, and Julio Pagan, MSW ’16, were each awarded a $2,000 scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year by the Latino Social Work Task Force (LSWTF).

LSWTF has worked in collaboration with the National Association of Social Workers, NYC Chapter (NASW-NYC) and the Puerto Rican Family Institute, Inc., (PRFI) on the development of this scholarship program to increase the number of Latino social workers needed to better serve the increased demand for linguistically and culturally sensitive services to the Latino community. As of this year, LSWTF has funded over $500,000 in scholarships to 110 students, including scholarship commitments from their respective graduate social work schools.

The Silver School of Social Work congratulates Cynthia and Julio on their award!
