CSWE Honors Mary McKay as a Social Work Education Mentor

October 15, 2015

McSilver Institute Director Mary McKay is being honored by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) for her mentorship of Dr. Tricia Stephens, an Assistant Professor at Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work, who was an NYU Silver School PhD student and pre-doctoral fellow at the McSilver Institute from 2010-2015.

The recognition comes through the CSWE Council on the Role and Status of Women in Social Work Education (Women's Council), which is responsible for the development of educational resources relevant to women’s issues within social work education. The Women’s Council created the Mentor Recognition Program to honor those mentors who have increased the visibility of women in social work education and made a difference in their lives.

Dr. McKay and her fellow honorees will be recognized on October 17th at the Women’s Council Networking Breakfast at CSWE’s Annual Program Meeting in Denver, CO.

NYU Silver professors Jeane Anastas and Lala Straussner were also honored with this recognition for their mentorship.
