  • Professor Vincent Guilamo-Ramos Honored at Presidential Leadership Scholars Graduation in Little Rock, AR

    Vincent Guilamo-Ramos, a professor at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work and the co-director of the Center for Latino and Adolescent and Family Health (CLAFH), was among 61 scholars honored at the graduation of the second class of the Presidential Leadership Scholars program, a partnership between the presidential centers of George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Lyndon B. Johnson.

  • NYU Silver to Hold a Two-Day Conference on the Demand for Military and Veteran Social Work Competence in NYS

    The New York University Silver School of Social Work will hold a two-day conference, “Social Work with Military Service Members, Veterans and their Families,” on November 15-16, 2016, in honor of Veterans Day, at NYU’s Kimmel Center for University and Student Life, 60 Washington Square South, New York, N.Y. Headliners will include Dr. Joseph Bobrow, renowned psychologist and author of Waking Up from War: A Better Way Home for Veterans and Nations; and Dr. Jeffrey Yarvis, Military Social Worker and the first integrated service chief of the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. The conference promises to educate the Silver School’s approximately 400 professional social workers and human service staff in state-of-the art practice for active duty personnel, Veterans, and their families.
