Juhi Malhotra joined the NYU Silver faculty in fall 2017 as Clinical Instructor. She has more than 15 years of clinical experience from Elmhurst Hospital Center in Queens where she held increasingly responsible positions as a psychiatric social work supervisor in the Mobile Crisis Unit and the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. In 2015, she became Associate Director of Social Work in psychiatry. In this position, she was primarily responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the Assertive Community Treatment Program, and clinical supervision of inpatient caseworkers. She has extensive experience in community psychiatry with a clinical focus on crisis intervention, diagnostic assessments, short term and long term care within a multidisciplinary approach. Prior to her supervisory positions in the healthcare setting, she worked in ambulatory behavioral health and conducted cognitive-behavioral therapy and co-facilitated groups for mentally ill adults.

Before joining the faculty at NYU Silver, Malhotra was an academic and field advisor at Columbia University School of Social Work. In this position she was the mentor and point person for all academics and field education for final year students. Additionally, she taught advising seminars with a concentration on anti-oppression, self-awareness, and career preparation. She received her MSW from NYU in 2000 and her BA from George Washington University in 1996.
