Getting Your NYU ID

In order to prepare for your Orientation, we recommend that you complete two key activities before your arrival:submit your photo online for your official NYU ID Card and enable your NYU NetID to receive NYU emails.

In order to get your NYU ID Card as quickly and efficiently as possible, we recommend submitting your photo online. Please and follow the directions.

The growth of the Internet and social media has been an important development for social workers in terms of being able to connect with others, share knowledge, and raise awareness about critical issues. Social media has also enabled social workers to help with advocacy, outreach, fundraising, and many other kinds of issues affecting their daily activities.

Enable your NYU NetID and Set-Up Email to Your Devices

By this time, you should have already enabled your NetID and have access to your NYU email. If you have not done so already please visit the NYU Start page at and follow instructions.

It is also recommended to add your NYU email account to your smartphones and/or tablets. For iOS devices please see this link to set up NYU Email access. Android users should visit this link.

Student Success & Professional Development Resources

Silver has collated a wide variety of school, university, and professional development resources frequently needed by new students. Aptly named, Silver Student Resources, it is is conveniently located in a one stop location on the NYU Classes portal. To access and explore, please login via the instructions below.

Loan Forgiveness

Tuition Remission
A variety of organizations offer some form of tuition remission or assistance to its employees seeking to further their educations. It is advisable to look into your place of employment to see if this is a possibility.

New York State provides tuition remission (up to $26,000) for qualified MSW graduates working in critical human service areas. The NYS Licensed Social Worker Loan Forgiveness Program is dedicated to increasing the number of licensed social workers in high-need areas, including health, mental health, substance abuse, aging, HIV/AIDS, and child welfare or working in communities with multilingual needs.
