This presentation will be a 3-hour session on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Screening, Assessment and Evidence-based Treatments. The audience for this session are mental health providers working with individuals with ASD and other Neurodevelopmental disorders and with their families, or professionals who are interested in learning more about the clinical "red flags" indicating a need for a comprehensive ASD assesment. Mental Health Professionals should recognize those red flags and learn about the different screening tools and gold standard evaluation for ASD and co-occurring conditions. During this talk, the presenter will also describe DSM-V criteria for ASD, will provide examples of manifestations of the different criteria throughout the lifespan, and will review recent evidence regarding best treatment practices for individuals with ASD and their families.
Learning Objectives
- Gain an understanding of DSM-V diagnostic criteria for ASD.
- Identify indications for ASD screening and assessment.
- Explore current evidence based treatments for ASD.
Presenter
Gili Segall, PhD
Dr. Gili Segall is a Licensed Psychologist and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Child Study Center, Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone. She is part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Service and has over 14 years of extensive clinical experience working with individuals, children and adults, with neurodevelopmental conditions, providing them and their families with evidence-based psychotherapy, diagnostic evaluations and school or workplace support and training.

- Refund requests made on or before December 1 (by midnight): 50% refund
- Refund requests made on or after December 2: no refund
