NYSED and ASWB/ACE approved for 3 CE contact hours
Up to 50% of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD present with significant disruptive behaviors. Despite the many advantages of engaging parents in training to reduce challenging behaviors in pediatric populations, there’s a lack of specialists with training in empirically supported behavioral treatments for ASD specifically. Join us to learn about disruptive behaviors in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the utility of parent training to reduce challenging behaviors and teach adaptive skills. Attendees will learn evidence-based parenting strategies based on applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Learning Objectives
- Understand the need for parent training as a front-line treatment for children with ASD
- Identify key concepts and methods for teaching parents behavioral skills
- Learn behavioral strategies for reducing disruptive behavior and teaching skills to youth with ASD
