Relational Mindfulness: Helping Caretakers Overcome Barriers to Connection with their Children and Teens
Overview

Live Online Training
Monday, December 12, 2022
9:30am - 12:30pm ET
NYSED and ASWB/ACE approved for 3 CE contact hours
Balancing limit setting with your children and building a meaningful relationship can be overwhelming for many parents. Now more than ever, social media, responsibilities at school and at work, and day-to-day stress distract from parents’ ability to be aware of and open to opportunities to build connections with their children. This training is designed to provide clinicians with recommendations to help caretakers develop the skills to identify barriers to improving connection with their children and recognize opportunities for more open communication in the present moment.
Learning Objectives
As a result of attending this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand and define relational mindfulness.
- Teach caretakers how to apply relational mindfulness skills with their children and teens.
- Troubleshoot barriers to relational mindfulness in families they work with.
