See it through My Deaf Lens: Interpersonal Violence and Trauma in the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (H-O-H) Community
Overview
Live Online Program
Thursday, April 27, 2023
5:30-8:30pm ET
NYSED and ASWB/ACE approved for 3 CE contact hours
This program will discuss silent struggles and how systematic barriers are imposed upon the marginalized Deaf community, especially for people from this group who experience trauma and interpersonal violence. The course will define and recognize how a person who is Deaf/H-O-H is affected by interpersonal violence and the traumatic impact violence has on a survivor’s day-to-day activities. It will help mental health practitioners raise awareness about the needs of the Deaf and Hard-Of-Hearing (D/H-O-H) community.
