Overview

Live Online Program

5:30–7:30pm ET
NYSED and ASWB/ACE approved for 2 CE contact hours
Social Workers are committed to being change agents within the social work profession to promote the social, political, and economic wellbeing of all social workers, while adhering to the Social Work Code of Ethics. The “Stewardship & Self- Advocacy for Social Workers” workshop will create a world where social workers stand united for each other’s wellbeing, interests, and security. Through collaborative efforts, Social Workers will advocate for each other and the profession. One of the factors that contribute to burnout and high turnover amongst social workers, is the lack of ethical and supervisory support. Ineffective supervision causes premature burnout and depletes professional development. As of 2015, 86% of social workers experience high levels of emotional exhaustion because of this. Furthermore, due to the pandemic Social Workers are being heavily relied on now more than ever as per the Center for New York City Affairs. As a result, the United Front for Social Workers has developed “Stewardship & Self-Advocacy for Social Workers” workshop, which has been designed to educate social workers on how to steward over the profession, create a collective front within the workplace and organize.
