NYU Silver School of Social Work
1 Washington Square North, Parlor, New York, NY 10003

Course material will include a definition of the nature of anxiety and an overview of the various types of anxiety, symptoms, causes and the most effective modes of treatment. The distinction between sensory integration impairment and over-anxious disorder will be explored and elucidated. A behavioral, emotional and neurological perspective will be presented throughout. An integration of theory and practice illustrating how different forms of anxiety are diagnosed and treated will be illustrated through three case studies, bringing synthesis to the entire workshop.
