Becoming a Non-Profit Executive

Overview

Self-Study
NYSED and ASWB/ACE Approved for 2 CE Contact Hours

The videotaped presentation will be viewable online from a computer via streaming video. Once your registration and payment is received, a link will be forwarded for access to the video and instructions for taking a post-test and evaluation. All online continuing education programs require completion of a post-test and evaluation for receipt of credits.

What you need to know to become a successful executive! Most social workers are trained to be practitioners/clinicians. They are exposed to clinical theory and practice with an emphasis on psychosocial development and pathology. Content is often organized around evidence-based practice. Social workers are most often employed in the clinical roles for which they have been trained. This webinar will broaden the approach to connect social work theory with an organizational understanding, leadership concepts, issues of governance and organizational structure (boards of directors), and a beginning understanding of leadership as it relates to advocacy, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management.

  • To enable professionals to identify the opportunities within their organizations, to exercise leadership and promotional opportunities.

  • Professionals will examine the chain of command and organizational structure to advocate for clients, staff, and self.

  •  To help professional staff connect clinical knowledge and skills to organizational and administrative leadership.
