This videotaped presentation is viewable online from a computer via streaming video. Once your registration and payment is received, a link will be forwarded for access to the video and instructions for taking a post-test and evaluation. All online continuing education programs require completion of a post-test and evaluation for receipt of credits.
This didactic, multimedia webinar by a national leader in the field of technology and intimacy disorders will review of the diagnosis of sexual addiction, common behaviors and problems encountered by sex addicts, along with direction toward eliminating problem sexual behavior. The relationship between sexual addiction and early trauma survival will be reviewed along with pertinent discussion about managing and pacing recovery in multiple related areas such as behavioral (addictions) and emotional/ relationship (intimacy problems). The influence of the Internet and digital media on sexual addiction (Smart Phone and Social Media based sex and porn) will be discussed and reviewed. Participants will be offered a gender based model of sex addiction recovery and healing that is most commonly utilized in treatment settings, both outpatient and residential.
Learning Goals
Attendees will list the 3 basic warning signs of behavioral addictions and how to assess for them;
Attendees will discuss 3 ways the online world is affecting human dating/mating and sexuality;
Attendees will list the basic reading and non-profit support group information for clients determined to have a hypersexual disorder; and
Attendees will be able to explain and differentiate between major mental health disorders that can evoke hypersexual behavior vs. sexual addiction.

Robert Weiss LCSW, CSAT-S is Senior Vice President of Clinical Development for Elements Behavioral Health. He has developed clinical programs for The Ranch outside Nashville, Tennessee, Promises Treatment Centers in Malibu, and The Sexual Recovery Institute in Los Angeles. A licensed UCLA MSW graduate and personal trainee of Dr. Patrick Carnes, he is author of Cruise Control: Understanding Sex Addiction in Gay Men and Sex Addiction 101: A Basic Guide to Healing from Sex, Porn, and Love Addiction, and lead author with Dr. Jennifer Schneider of both Untangling the Web: Sex, Porn, and Fantasy Obsession in the Internet Age and the 2014 release, Closer Together, Further Apart: The Effect of Technology and the Internet on Parenting, Work, and Relationships, along with numerous peer-reviewed articles and chapters. An author and subject expert on sexual addiction as well as the relationship between digital technology and human sexuality, Mr. Weiss has served as a media specialist for CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Network, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the Today Show, among many others. He has also provided clinical multi-addiction training and behavioral health program development for the US military, The NIH and treatment centers throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.

55 jurisdictions accept ACE-approved provider CE contact hours. ACE is not an approved Continuing Education provider in the states of New York (though NYU Silver is NYSED CE approved in NYS) and West Virginia, unless the event is outside of West VA. ACE only approves individual courses in New Jersey, though NYU Silver is CSWE-accredited and therefore accepted for licensed NJ professionals.
