Practicum Education

Our practicum internships provide the experience of social work in action. Students are placed in a wide array of agencies throughout New York City that are working to address the varied, diverse, and dire challenges facing our communities. Under direct supervision of a licensed social work practitioner, students gain vital, first-hand skills and training to better serve our neighbors in need. 

Our students have the option to start their internships in the Spring semester of their third year, and all students complete intensive practicum internships during their fourth year. Third-year students will complete between 80-100 service hours and fourth-year students will complete 448 service hours in their final year.
