The minor in Leadership, Spirituality, and Social Change is built around a commitment to social justice, the practice of relational change, and an ethic of religious literacy. Religious literacy is an understanding of the historic and contemporary interconnections of religion with cultural, political, and social life and the ability to use this knowledge to promote allyship and engage in dialogue on issues of religious or spiritual concern.
Offered jointly between the NYU Wagner School of Public Service and the NYU Silver School of Social Work, this interdisciplinary program molds scholar-practitioners. Students develop competencies to navigate the religious, spiritual, and secular dimensions of various fields, preparing students for careers in community development, healthcare, education, social work, policymaking, journalism, law, human rights, religious leadership, and more.
