Disabilities Across the Life Cycle Practice Area

Examples of settings include schools, treatment centers, hospitals, and community-based programs. The social work student will function as an essential member of an interdisciplinary team that may include other mental health professionals, speech pathologists, occupational/vocational therapists, neurologists, and pediatricians. Students will have the opportunity to work with individuals, families, groups, and communities across the lifespan. Learning opportunities include: crisis intervention, case management, referral, advocacy, outreach, counseling, team collaboration, assessment, and intervention.
