Westchester County

NYU Silver’s campus in Westchester County is situated at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, conveniently located for residents of the Bronx, Westchester, and Putnam Counties, Connecticut, and northern New Jersey. Students who choose Westchester as their “home” campus have the option of taking some of their classes at other NYU Silver campuses, and they have access to all of the services and study abroad opportunities that NYU has to offer.
The Westchester campus is an inviting and inclusive learning community due to a student body that is highly diverse, and to its faculty comprised of practitioners, researchers, and mental health administrators. The campus also offers small class sizes that contribute to the formation of a tight-knit, caring community committed to excellence in educating social work professionals. Between classes, students can enjoy fresh air under the apple trees in front of our classroom building.
The Two Year and Advanced Standing full-time program pathways are available at the Westchester County campus, as are the Extended and Extended One Year Residence part-time/full-time pathways. In addition, those who are interested in exploring graduate social work education without committing to a degree program can take some courses on a non-matriculated basis.

The Student Experience
“From the first day I walked through the doors, I instantly felt like I was a part of the Westchester campus family. Neeta Arbeiter and Professor de Leon are so warm and welcoming. It is a small, close-knit community on the beautiful Sarah Lawrence College campus. All of my professors have been wonderful and I am so thankful to have chosen this campus as my home base.”
Gianna D'Ambrozio, MSW ’21, Two-Year Pathway
“My tenure here at Silver Westchester has been nothing short of amazing. From the first day of orientation to now, I’ve been surrounded by professors, staff, and peers who were welcoming and always made themselves available to assist with my needs and questions. My favorite part of being a part of the Silver Westchester family is that it is just that, a family, and being that it is not as big as the main campus, it has allowed us to get to know each other more personally.”
Christopher Bates, MSW ’21, Extended Pathway
“The Westchester campus has the best of both worlds in regards to being a part of a prestigious university with all of its resources but also close knit with a suburban experience. Since the classes are smaller you get to become very close to advisors, professors, staff, and students. Westchester is the perfect fit for those who want the NYU experience but in a more intimate setting.”
Vininatalie Zaninnovic, MSW ’20, Two-Year Pathway
“My experience at Silver’s Westchester campus has been incredible! I have so much gratitude to the faculty and staff at this campus that know who I am as an individual and genuinely care about my development as a social worker.”
Wendy Chum, MSW ’20, Two-Year Pathway
“The standards for the professors at Silver Westchester are very high; they are not only great educators but they are also professionals with outstanding work experience in the Social Work field. My professors are available when needed and their feedback has helped me grow.”
Myriam Zelada, MSW ’20, Extended OYR Pathway
“My experience at Silver’s Westchester campus has been amazing. The classroom size makes it very intimate and I get to know my colleagues and professors and all the other staff easily. The sense of belonging makes it easy for me to participate in all lectures and not feel judged or be unnoticed. The genuine support of my professors toward my professional growth is evident in their interaction with me. I remain grateful to the faculty and staff of the Westchester campus for making me feel at home in school.”
Mary Zuruba, MSW ’20, Advanced Standing Pathway
