Biography
Qian Xie, coordinator of field education and instructor of social work at the NYU Shanghai Campus, is a bilingual, Chinese/English, practitioner with expertise in social services for children and parents, elders, people with disabilities, and communities after disaster. She has taught in both BSW and MSW programs at Shanghai Normal University and conducts trainings in social work theory and practice for community-based agencies and committees. As vice secretary of Shanghai Pudong Social Work Association, Xie created, implemented and supervised clinical programs, in addition to promoting professional development projects such as training social worker supervisors and founding Le’ai Social Worker Office, serving people with disabilities.
Qian Xie earned her BA and MA at Sichuan International Studies University and her MSW from Hong Kong University.
