Biography
Dr. Sarah M. Godoy is an Assistant Professor at NYU Silver School of Social Work and faculty affiliate at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. Her research focuses on the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adults, including their intersections with child welfare, legal, and healthcare systems. Dr. Godoy is passionate about using mixed methods approaches and participatory research strategies to engage communities with lived experience and multidisciplinary stakeholders to advance the prevention of commercial sexual exploitation and develop interventions that support these populations’ multifaceted needs.
Dr. Godoy earned her PhD in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from the University of California at Los Angeles, and Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Women’s Studies from the University of California at Riverside.
