Supporting Silver

NYU offered me an amazing opportunity. Financial support made my dream feasible and is an investment in the community.

Make Dreams Come True for the Next Generation of NYU Silver Students

“You have allowed me to pursue my dream at my dream school.” – Gricelda Cortes-Gonzalez

Countless other students, like Griselda, dream of coming to NYU to receive a world-class social work education. With your help, we can turn that dream into a reality. Alumni, parents, and friends like you give directly to student scholarships or many other things that make Silver one of the best programs in the country: research, continuing education, travel abroad, practicum education...and much more.

I have a deep desire to give back to my social work community, particularly to students and emerging clinicians, the way Dr. Susan Gerbino and countless others have helped me.

Helping NYU Silver Graduates Start Strong

Building on an idea proposed by Shamire Juste, MSW ’19, the Silver Moving Forward Fund was created in Spring 2020 to provide small grants up to $300 to BS and MSW graduates who are struggling with many of the additional costs associated with graduation and accessing critical credentialing. Thanks to contributions from alumni, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders, in its first two years, the Fund has helped 181 new graduates to take a strong next step on their professional path. Supporting the Fund is an investment in social work, and we ask recipients to “pay-it-forward” by contributing back into the Fund when they are able. Help us sustain the Fund for the future #NYUSilverGrads!
