Jayne M. Silberman Now a Visionary Photographer

For the past 10 years, Jayne M. Silberman, PhD ’85, has been pursuing fine art photography. She is pleased to let us know that her first book, In the Herd: A Photographic Journey with the Chincoteague Ponies and Assateague Horses, was published in September 2012. Recently, she also won recognition in two categories in a prestigious international photography competition this year. “I received an Honorable Mention in the Abstract category for professionals and a Nomination in the Wildlife category for professionals,” she says. Before starting her 10-year journey into photography, Jayne graduated in the Silver School’s first doctoral class and taught at the NYU Silver School of Social Work and the Hunter School of Social Work and was a member of the Social Work and Behavioral Sciences division of Mount Sinai Medical Center. She also maintained a private practice.
