Constance Silver Honored by Florida International University
Constance Silver’s 10-foot tall sculpture Whoopie was unveiled on January 26 at an outdoor ceremony on the campus of Florida International University. Silver—who works under the pseudonym C. McSilver—donated the sculpture to the FIU Paul L. Cejas School of Architecture, where it will be displayed in the building’s courtyard.
The event was followed by a reception at the School of Architecture Building BEA Gallery, where student projects were on display. Topics included art integrated in hospitals, residential buildings, hospitality business, and sustainable environments.
Silver also gave a lecture on January 24 as part FIU’s School of Architecture Lecture Series. She spoke to a lecture hall packed with students about her life and process of person expression and reflections.
