McSilver Researcher and Silver Students Featured on SMNoticias for "Ver Para Apprender" Campaign
McSilver Institute research scientist Laura Velez and NYU Silver students Monika Estrada Guzman and Roxana Mendez-Rojas were featured in an article on SMNoticias about their work on the "Ver para Apprender" (See to Learn) campaign, sponsored by our partner organization and Buenos Aires field placement agency Fundación Zambrano. Monika and Roxana were also featured on Fundcaión Zambrano's blog.
Fundcaión Zambrano's Ver para Apprender campaign provides free eye screenings and glasses to children ages 6 to 11 in communities in need. They also provide training to elementary school teachers on doing basic eye chart screening so they can screen their other students. The training is accompanied by a workbook for the children to reduce stigma around wearing glasses and raise awareness about eye health.
