NYU Silver Welcomes Post-Doctoral Fellow Kiara Moore

Kiara L. Moore has joined NYU Silver School of Social Work as an Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow under the NYU Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. She received her PhD from Columbia University, her MSW from University of Southern California, and her BA from Pitzer College.

With several years of clinical practice with adolescents and young adults behind her, Dr. Moore’s primary areas of interest are mental health disparities and intervention research. Her current research focuses on identity development, mental health service utilization, and young people who identify as sexual, gender, and ethnic/racial minorities.

While completing her PhD, Dr. Moore assisted on a number of research studies at New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University School of Social Work. She was an adjunct lecturer at both Columbia University School of Social Work and NYU Silver School of Social Work. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Moore was a psychiatric social worker for Los Angeles County in California.
